The Matthew Bittner Scholarship Fund

The Matthew Bittner Scholarship Fund was set up to benefit families with children who would like to take guitar and music lessons but cannot afford them. After Matthew Bittner’s tragic death on October 31st, 2021 the scholarship fund was set up in Matthew’s name at request of the Bittner family. Matthew was a long time student with the Fab Gear Rock & Roll Academy, where he started in 2019 learning to play guitar, and then graduating to one of the Fab Gear ensemble groups.

Matthew’s mother Sally Bittner said, “Matthew loved music and playing guitar. You not only taught him how to play guitar and be in a band, but you did so much more. I saw the whole lesson program experience helped Matthew break out of his shell and be so much more confident as just a person. That meant a lot to my husband and I.” It is with this spirit, and in the name of their son, that the Bittner family would like to help other children with the gift of music.
